Mission and Services
The Downtown Business Association of Barstow is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization that aims to promote community economic development in Barstow, California, through revitalizing and renovating the historic downtown and Route 66 areas. This will mainly be achieved by offering an entrepreneur incubator, attracting investors, and working with the City of Barstow to encourage development.

Recent Milestones
The First Avenue Bridge
The DBA is pleased to announce the opening of the new First Ave Bridge in Historic Downtown, an excellent addition to Barstow.
Connecting Historic Route 66 directly to key community corridors, this modern gateway eases traffic flow and enhances pedestrian access across the rail yard. It marks a vital step forward in revitalizing our downtown infrastructure and welcoming visitors to local businesses.
The Historic Rexall Drug Building
Built circa 1928, featuring clean late-1920s Art Deco and Spanish/commercial vernacular details typical of Route 66 boom-era structures in the High Desert.
The building is under major renovation with a proposed full-service restaurant and bar and 5-room boutique hotel, designed to bring nightlife, dining, and pedestrian foot traffic directly into the historic corridor. The exterior and will incorporate water-wise Mediterranean and Mojave native/desert landscaping.
